Don't get me wrong, the game will run below it's listed specs, but based on the performance I've seen with various systems I don't believe your laptop has what it takes.Hi, i got a problem i can't figure out how to fix. Even if you have the best of the 4500 series, 4570, it's just not going to be enough for the game. The Long Journey Home is probably a no-go. If you give it a go there's a video that may help explain some of the shockingly limited graphics options for the game, They are Billions: How to Increase performance / FPS on any PC!. The game is in EA and subject to change without notice, so you're taking a bit of a chance with this one as you skirt the minimums.
If you have one of the other 4500 series you should be ok. The Mobility Radeon HD 4500 series is a bit varied, if you have the bottom rung 4530 it's a bit iffy as that one performs generally worse than the min specced Intel HD 3000, but not by a whole lot. You should squeak by on the CPU for it, and it's a CPU intensive game. They are Billions will probably run on minimums. Can be hit or miss but probably the best overall resource. For that I tend to default to Google/Youtube searches for " Intel HD Graphics 6000" to see if others have played the game on similar systems. But most all of that is based on synthetic tests, and those can only get you so far as real world usage tends to be different. There's also User Benchmark which can be a bit more useful in some circumstances. It's not perfect but gives a quick idea of relative performance of different GPUs. Vs desktop GPU solutions I generally take a quick check through PassMark's GPU list. If you take a look down the side of GPU info at the site I linked, you can get a rough comparison vs other mobile GPUs, or check their benchmark list to see where the HD 6000 measures up. It gets a bit more tricky when specs call for Nvidia and AMD GPUs as the performance comparisons can be a bit odd. Fairly easy determination as you're comparing oranges to oranges, for the most part. With Nightwar the Win specs looked for the older HD 4000, so going with things being somewhat similar between the Win/Mac specs the 6000 should be more than enough for the game's minimums. The HD 6000 has fairly decent performance for an integrated GPU. So speed-wise you're solid for a game that calls for 2.0GHz (all other things being equal).
I run into a lot of Mac owners that don't realize that the CPU has what Intel calls turbo boost, so your base speed of the i5-5350U is 1.8GHz but it turbos to 2.9GHz (that's max single core, dual core is slightly less at 2.7GHz).
